Stanley Brewer Jr. was born April 10, 1914 in Natal, British Columbia, Canada, to Ruth (nee Weaver) and Stanley Brewer. He was the 5th of 7 children in the family and was known as Stan. His father rented a 6 room house in Natal where Stan went to school until moving to Vancouver.

Stan married Hazel (last name uncertain) and together they ran several companies. They started a moving company named Atomic Transfer and branched off to deliver sawdust under the company name Atomic Delivery. Stan also started in the real estate business and was very successful, owning several properties himself. He bought Hazel a dress shop, which was a fancy boutique. Niece Vivian would stop by the shop to visit Hazel after school, and Hazel would often surprise Vivian with a fancy new dress. There was an apartment above the store that Stan and Hazel lived in while having a house built in Vancouver. Vivian and her mother Edna lived in the basement of that new house while waiting for their own house to be built in the Yukon where Vivian's father was already working.

Stan went to join the army with his brothers Fred, George and Thomas but was refused on medical conditions due to his feet. His younger brother Aldon joined the Navy and was killed at age 19. Stan, Hazel and his mother Ruth went together to tell Stan's father, who was living in the Hycroft Hospital, of the news of his death. His father took Aldon's death very hard and died himself just 1 month later.

Hazel and Stan liked to entertain and enjoyed socializing. In the early 1950s, Hazel and Stan divorced. Hazel married a man she met in Hawaii who had 3 children. She had no children of her own. Stan never remarried. He continued to work in real estate, and took care of his mother for the rest of her life. He remained closest to his niece Vivian.

Stan quit smoking and drinking in the late 1960s and was in good health living to the age of 96. He was still able to drive well into his 80s and his mind was very sharp until the very end.

Stanley passed away October 1, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and was cremated. His ashes are buried with his mother Ruth, and near his brother George and father Stanley, in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver, B.C.
