Ernest was the son of the late Emmanuel and Malvina (Lizzotte) Cote. He was born in, Lewiston, ME and lived in the area for many years. He was employed at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in East Hartford for over 30 years. He was a member of the French Social Circle East Hartford.

He is survived by Bertha Pelletier of Auburn, ME, Emma Roberge of Lewiston, ME, Laurianne Gervais of Oakville, CT, Arthur Cote of Auburn , ME, Irene Cote of Sabattus, ME, Robert Cote of Lewiston, ME, Noella Viollette of Auburn, ME, Theresa Cote of Lewiston, ME, Constance Pomleau of Venice, FL, Emmanuel Cote Jr. of Sabattus, ME, Henry Cote of Otisfield, ME, Rita Cote of East Hartford, CT, Joseph Cote of Sabattus, ME, Marie Soucy of Pensacola, FL, and Georgette Gagnon of South Windsor, CT. He also leaves his long time friend William Tracy of Hartford as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Mr. Cote was predeceased by four brothers.
