It looks (to me) and 1 other person in this line: Solomon (may be Silas Solomon or Solomon Silas Abbott) b. 3-6-1761, who m. Phoebe Turner b. 1783, are Benjamin F. Abbott's parents. I have only seen one listing with him as a son, long ago. I am pursuing, this is the case, until proven correct, or not. He may or may not have been b. in England. Another source is a possible son of Margaret "Polly" Lyon b. 1768 + Jonathan Abbott b. 1754.

J. J. Finch below, is also my ancestor on the Abbott side. This may be referring to him, and may be the B. F. Abbott buried at Decker Prairie Cem. Keeping an open mind and hoping someone else can verify any of this.

Notes:
From John Lewis Smith III (Notes):
September 11,1842-the Mexican Army invaded San Antonio. John Lewis Smith,III was one of 52 prisoners taken to Perote Castle (Prison). He was released on 3-23-1844. The Black Bean Executions were on March 25. Seventeen men died.

I know John J. Finch was a prisoner during the Mexican War, and Benjamin Franklin Abbott on that Montgomery burial list, and Benjamin Franklin Abbott died in 1841, supposedly AL, but could have died in Mexican prison???? Or possibly in MS on the way, to or from AL to TX? Most likely from an epidemic illness. (Gayle: See notes from Edmund Lane below that I also placed her. Mr. Abbott went west in 1840 to visit his mother who was ill….I think it says he died there. Then see Mrs. B. F. Abbott note.)

The Battle of Zapatecas was an early battle right before the War with Mexico, initiated by Santa Anna. He could have died of Cholerau, big epidemic hit MO about 1840.

At Decker Prairie Cemetery a Benjamin Franklin Abbott listed. There was a Confederate Powder Mill there that blew up in 1863, 3 killed.

Gayle’s Note: There is also a Baker Cemetery in Montgomery Co., TX. This one has the Dawson Massacre victims and Harvey Hall and John Dancer that are related to our families in Williamson Co., TX. AND this is where that unknown Benjamin Franklin Abbott is buried in a mass grave, as per likely, ground was frozen, and they waited until they could dig a grave, and buried them all together, marker with their names but no date.
