"Green Twp. - Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sheaters of 5031 Thursby rd., both life residents of the township, celebrate 50 years of marriage today with a word of wisdom to newly-weds. 'Be true to each other and remember your wedding vows, until death do us part,' the Sheaters advise young married couples. Sheaters is 74 and the former Maud M. Daily is 70. They were married Oct. 16, 1913 in Cleveland. The Sheaters will celebrate the golden anniversary with a family dinner Sunday and then will receive friends and relatives at their home later in the day. They have four children, Mrs. Evelyn Brannon of Wadsworth, Mrs. Doris Reed of Uhrichsville and Mrs. Mary Hostetter and Donald of Canton; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A carpenter for 18 years with Republic Steel, Sheaters retired in 1958 and now devotes much of his spare time to building things with his power tools. He also likes to work in his yard while Mrs. Sheaters enjoys baking and canning. They are members of the Church of God at Comet."

"GREENSBURG -- Lloyd Sheaters, 75, of 5031 Thursby rd., died Monday in Mercy Hospital, Canton, of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Sheater was a life resident of Green Twp. He retired in 1958 from Republic Steel Co. plant in Massillon. Mr. and Mrs. Sheaters celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. Mr. Sheaters leaves his wife, Maud; son, Donald of Canton; daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Brannon of Wadsworth, Mrs. Doris Reed of Uhrichsville, and Mrs. Mary Hostetter of Canton; 7 grandchildren, one great-grandson Friends may call at the Button Funeral Home, Greentown, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be Thursday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Lawrence Bain officiating. Burial will be in Greensburg."
