Charles Beardsley Buried Saturday

Services for Charles Beardsley, 62, of Oxford, were held Saturday at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Oxford. Mr. Beardsley died Wednesday evening at his home following a long illness.

He was post commander of American Legion Post No. 108 and a member of VFW Post 4036 of Oxford.

Surviving, besides his widow, Mary, are his children: Mrs. Phyllis Darovitz pf Huntington Woods, Merle of Leonard, William of Oxford, Donald of Dearborn, Harold of the U.S. Navy, A.D. Melzer and Mrs. Doris Dalgeish of Lake Orion, Mrs. Ora Beardsley, Miss Lora Melzer and Mrs. Noame Millen of Oxford, Mrs. Helen Copeland of Cass City, Mrs. Jean Galpin of Pontiac, and Mrs. Isabel Richmond of Washington, D.C.

Nineteen grandchildren and four brothers survive. The brothers are: Frank of Kentucky, William of California and Francis and Henry of Oxford. Surviving sisters are: Mrs. Ellen Rees and Mrs. Ruth Rossman of Oxford and Mrs. Elizabeth Spencer and Julia Dodds of Almont.

Burial was in Elkland Township Cemetery.
