Mary Etta Cox, 85, 308 Taylor Blvd., Campbellsville, died Tuesday, July 8, 1986, at Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Gilpin and Celeste Cunningham. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, one step-son, and one daughter: Earl Poynter, Campbellsville; Dan Poynter, Lexington; Lee Poynter, Elkhorn; Alta Shepherd, Louisville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. July 10 at the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Rodford McDonald with burial in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Ford, Phillip Gilpin, Roger Pike, Leon Shepherd, Wayne Barr and Billy Ford.
