Jane M. Huppert, 95, of Cropsey, passed away at 4:48 pm, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at her residence in rural Cropsey.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Funks Grove Chapel, Funks Grove; with Pastor Paulette Cott officiating. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, Funks Grove; with full military honors conducted by Bloomington American Legion, Bloomington.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm, Friday, April 12, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Sugar Grove Nature Center, Funks Grove.

Mrs. Huppert was born October 8, 1917 in Normal, the daughter of Ben and Lucille (Macy) Stubblefield. She married Delmar J. Huppert on April 6, 1947 in Funks Grove. He passed away on October 10, 1986.

Survivors include her children, Martha (Bill) Butts of Decatur; Betty Harkins of Pana; Gary Huppert of Cropsey; James (Melanie) Huppert of Crystal Lake; Della Jo (Mike) Harris of Normal; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters and one son in-law, Dave Harkins.

Jane served our country in the US Navy during WWII. She was a member of the Cropsey United Methodist Church, Cropsey Women's Club and Daughters of the American Revolution, Gibson City. Jane received her Teaching degree from ISNU, Normal and taught in Low Point High School and Ben Funk Elementary. For over 20 years she was the bookkeeper for Berner Electric, Bloomington and later owned the H&R Block in Fairbury, retiring in 1977.

She enjoyed camping and nature but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Deb Smith & the other care givers from Alpha Care, Bloomington.
