Billie was born on Good Friday, March 25, 1921. at Franklin, Kan., the daughter of Allan and Gladys (Mayfield) Mark. Her early years were spent growing up in Kansas and Missouri. She later moved to the Black Hills where she was raised by her mother and step-father, Jim Hurst.
She met John Egemo and they were married on October 24, 1938. She had three children, Mark, Linda and Denny. Her husband died in 1955 and she remained in the hills until moving to Anchorage, Alaska in 1966. Billie work for the state of Alaska until her retirement in 1982. She moved to Spearfish and then lived in Granville, Washington until returning to Spearfish in the spring of 2003.
Survivors include her daughter and son. She leaves three sisters. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gwen, her husband, John, son Mark and grandson Jeff Ruehle.
At her bequest, there will be private family services at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish. A memorial has been established to Northern Hills Hospice. Cards may be sent in care of Denny Egemo, PO Box 738, Lead, SD 57754
