CORINTH – Denise Wood Gibens died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born Nov. 9, 1971, in Memphis to Jackie and Betty Walker. She was a 1990 graduate of Alcorn Central High School and a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College. She was a former head Medicare biller at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She had worked eight years with the Corinth Police Dept. and was secretary for the Alcorn County Emergency Services. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She was active with the Glendale youth and ACHS Band Boosters. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James Nathan and Agirtha Bizzel; her paternal grandparents, Victor and Pallie Walker; and her father-in-law, Dewey Gibens.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky Gibens; sons, Evan and Nathan Gibens; parents, Jackie and Betty Walker, all of Corinth; brother, Darrell Walker of Trenton, Tenn.; sister, Rene (Dr. Jimmy) Williams of Trenton, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Jeanette Gibens of Corinth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Glendale Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Cossey and Bro. Brandon Powell officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church.
