Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Willie Dyess Jr., age 65, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away on April 10, 2013 at his residence. Interment followed at the Nations Cemetery. Rev. Trent Sullivan officiated. Pall bearers were Toby Douglas, Jimmy Nations, Dale Dyess, Darrell Dyess, Sonny Dyess and Kyle English. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

A native of Jefferson Davis County, Willie Edward Dyess Jr. was born on February 9, 1948. He was the son of Willie Edward Dyess Sr. and Gatha Raynes Dyess. He worked as an Offshore Drilling Crane Operator with Mallard Well Service for seventeen years before retiring. He was an active member of Grace Reform Baptist Church in Brookhaven and also served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Mr. Dyess is survived by his wife, Leola Nations Dyess of Silver Creek, MS; his son, Craig Dyess of Oakvale, MS; his daughter, Barbara Holley of Silver Creek, MS; his seven grandchildren; his brothers, Sam Dicks and Stassen Dyess both of Carson, MS and Burton Dyess of Gloucester, VA; and his sister, Charlotte Hathorn of Hayville, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
