Sarah Ellen Brown daughter of Thadeus and Mary Cassell Perrin was born June 18, 1882 at Wellman. On July 29, 1900 she was united in marriage to Austin W Brown. To this union 11 children were born. She died October 20, 1958 at Moline Lutheran Hospital. Surviving are four daughters: Marie (Mrs. Frank Shetler) of Rock Island; Esta (Mrs. Carl Gerringer) and Cordelle (Mrs. Charles Claypool) both of Williamsburg; Marvel (Mrs. Pat Shermloy) of Marcellina, Missouri; 2 sons William A. of Moline, Illinois and George of Jacksonville, Florida, Howard Brown, an adopted son, of Williamsburg. She had 20 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ed Blumenstein of Wellman and several
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 daughters, 2 sons, her parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. Brown had spent most of her life in and around Wellman except the last 15 years in which she has resided at 1800 5th Ave., Rock Island. She was a member of the Rock Island Women of the Moose 168, where she has made many friends, who will mourn her passing.
