Deaconess Lillie B. Turner Jackson was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the age of 90. Viewing of the body will be held at St. John Baptist Church located at 820 Rafe Mayer Rd., Alsen, LA, on Saturday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to until service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor Donald R. Ruth. Interment will be held at Southern Memorial Gardens and Repast at St. John Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson was survived by her legacy of children: Connie Williams (CA), Lillie M. Jackson (GA), Minister Charlie Jackson, Jr. and wife Myra, Sarah J.S. Davis, Geraldine Jackson, Brenda Jackson (all of Baton Rouge), four step-daughters, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one sister Willie Mae Turner (Baton Rouge), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Turner; children, Christine Williams and Terrance James; grandchildren, Farrah Carter and Cedric Jackson; great granddaughter, Miracle Washington; siblings, Grant and Roosevelt Turner, Viola Revish, Queen McKnight and Josephine Jarrell. Lillie Jackson was an entrepreneur and owner of Lillie's Cafe in Baker, La.
