A member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Rudolph, she taught school for two years before marrying Mr. Whitacre in 1914. He died in1968. She was born on Feb. 19, 1891 to Mr. and Mrs Jackson Sweebe (Mary Young).
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Truman (Winifred) Carnicom, Fostoria; Mrs. George (Geraldine) Loraine, Dayton; Mrs. Jack (Betty) Fogle, Shelby; Mrs. Roberta Boxley, Rudolph, and Mrs. Edwin (Marilyn) Taberski, Pearl River, La.; three sons, J. Wayne, Donald and D. L. all of Rudolph, one brother, Dr. Edward Sweebe, St. Petersburg, Fla., 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Three brothers and two grandsons preceded in death.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dunn Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Ralph Clink officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Wingston Cemetery.
