Troy Times, 5 April 1918, pg. 24, middle column - Isaiah Turner, sr., who died last night at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Curtis S. Joslin, at 828 Second Street, Rensselaer, was a resident of the Twelfth Ward for many years. He came here from England, his birthplace, when a young man and had lived in this section about forty years, removing to Rensselaer last December upon the death of his wife. Mr. Turner had been employed at the Burden Works for some time. He attended the Third Street Methodist Church and was a member of Court Pride of the Hudson, Foresters of the World. The survivors are two sons, Isaiah and Joseph Turner, and four daughters, Mrs. Joslin, Mrs. Benjamin Clifton, Mrs. Thomas Lee and Mrs. Charles Alger.

Gale's note: His birth certificate gives his date of birth as 29 Jan 1939 but the 1900 Census and death certificate have 18 Dec 1939.
