FARMER KILLED IN SILO
A 29-year old Winnebago County farmer was killed Monday morning in a farm accident when he apparently became entangled in a grain auger inside a silo.

Greg C. Hill, Harrison Road, was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. Monday by Winnebago County Deputy Coroner Ron Canode, who was called to the scene of the Hill Family farm in Burritt Township by county sheriff deputies.

Authorities said they believe Hill became entangled in the swirling auger while working in or near the silo. Hill, who died of head and abdominal trauma, was found by his brother, Lyle Hill, who notified police.

An auger is a machine used to move the grain.
