Chuck Holt was a companion to my mother, Helen Withers, during the last ten years of his life so most of what I know about him was during that period of time. I know he lived most of his life in the Fairfax County VA area and that he had been married twice. He was divoriced from his first wife with whom he had a son, Charles V. Holt, Jr. and his second wife, Helen Holt, passed away. After her death, Chuck moved to central Florida where he met my mother who was also widowed. Although they never married they spent about ten years together.

The one thing that Chuck loved the most was playing golf and from what others have told me, he was a very good golfer. He suffered from emphysema for quite a few years so his time playing the sport became less and less as the disease progressed. As his condition became worse he was under the care of Hospice and passed away at his home. A memorial service was held at Port Orange Christian Church where he was a member with his pastor Michael Langley officiating.
