Union, Nov 30 - Mrs Mary Jane Canterberry, wife of Mr Granville Canterberry, entered into rest at her home at Red Sulphur Springs, this county, on Tuesday night last, Nov 24, 1914, aged 81 years. She was a Miss Nickell before her marriage and was born in Monroe county in 1833. Mrs Canterberry was a most esteemed woman - a loving and loyal wife and mother, busy as a home-maker, kind as a neighbor and consistent as a Christian. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and her life a record of good works. She is survived by her venerable husband, three sons, Messrs John W of Ballard and James L and Thos J Canterberry of Red Sulphur Springs, and one daughter, Mrs Mary Fleshman of Lindside. She was a half-sister of Mrs A C Lynch of Union, Col J H Crosier of Ronceverte, Dr T W Crosier of Roanoke, Va, and Mrs H W Sweeney of Athens, W Va. The remains of the deceased were laid to repose at Forest Hill Thursday.
