Died at 1:45 p.m. Friday at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. Was 92, a resident of the Lindsay community for 50 years, a planter and a native of Paris, Tenn. Body at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, with calling hours from 8 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. A. D. St. Amant to officiate. Burial in the Jackson, La., cemetery.

Pallbearers: Keller McKowen, W. S. McKowen Jr., Ewell D. Bickham Jr., Clyde E. Chaney, Gerry Heirtzler and Frank M. Thompson.

Survived by two sons, David U. Bowles, Clinton, and W. T. Bowles, Baton Rouge; five daughters, Mrs. L. M. Sawyer of Minden, Mrs. Edmond P. Babin and Miss Mary B. Bowles of Norco, Mrs. L. M. Becnel of New Orleans and Mrs. W. A. Cooper of Baton Rouge; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Member of the Methodist Church and a former member of the East Feliciana Parish School Board.

His parents were the late John James and Joanna Bond Bowles, pioneer settlers of Henry County, Tenn.
