U.S. POSTMASTER of COTTRELLVILLE May 30, 1850 - Oct. 8, 1863.
Add George Washington Grummond as a child of Mary Harrow and Stephen Grummond. George was in the Civil War where he was a brevit Lieutenant Colonel. He was publicly admonished for killing an elderly man who was unarmed. George divorced his first wife. He remarried before the first marriage was completed. He could have waited three weeks and been ok.
He lead 25 mounted cavalry and was followed by 50 soldiers on foot. George caused 83 men to be killed by 1500 native Americans on 21 December 1866 in the Fetterman battle.

2023 information reveals that at least 15 native Americans were killed in the 21 December 1866 battle. That source states that approximately 40 Native Americans were wounded.
