John C. "Jack" Kitzmiller, Sr., 85, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Manor Care South, York. He was the husband of the late Betty A. (Jury) Kitzmiller. Jack was born in York, Septemer 2, 1927, son of the late Ira T. and Gwendolyn M. (Saliday) Kitzmiller. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII and later was a Loom Repairman for the former Blue Bird Textile Co., where he retired in 1992 after 25 years of service. He was a 1946 graduate of William Penn High School and member of the East Berlin V.F.W. Post 8896. He is survived by a son, John C. Kitzmiller, Jr. of Spring Grove; one granddaughter, Dana L. Grim of Thomasville; a great-granddaughter, Jacklyn M. Grim of Thomasville; two half brothers, Charles and James; and one half sister, Mary Louise. Funeral will be held Wednesday, at 12 noon, from the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11 to 12. Officiating will be the Rev. John Woods, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, Dover. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Garden, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018; and to the York SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
