She was born April 10, 1918, in the Town of Farmington to Simon and Inga (Almos) Christianson. On October 5, 1940, she married Harvey S. Gilbertson in Decorah, Iowa, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1995. Evie worked along with her husband in H.S. Gilbertson Trucking for 38 years. She also worked at Paramount Studio in West Salem. Evie was a member of Bells Coulee Lutheran Church, where she served as the treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Berg-Hemker-Olson American Legion Auxiliary Post 51 of West Salem. Evie and her husband spent a lot of their retirement in their cottage in Bass Camp Campground in Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lester (Lorene), Martin, Stanley, and Willard Christianson; and five sisters, Margaret (Clinton) Hanson, Hazel (Theodore) Christiansen, Adeline Christianson, Anna (Murven) Gilbertson, and Nina (Bud) Mille.
