"On Wednesday, U. I. Bentley brought from Cooperstown the body of John Burrell, who had died the night previous in the hospital of neuritis. Mr. Burrell was eighty-four years of age and for the past few years had made his home with William Wart in Christian Hill. He was a painter by trade until advancing years obliged him to give it up. The funeral was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. U. I. Bentley, on Saturday, the Rev. A. D. Finch of Worcester officiating. Beside the daughter mentioned, another daughter, Mrs. C. H. Stevens of Joliet, Illinois, and one son Claude of Elmira, survive; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Burial was made in the family plot in the village cemetery."
