In 1930 Jordan was boarding at the home of Nellie Kidd, a divorcee. In a few years they were married. Nellie died in 1937. In about 1942 Jordan married Nannie Mae Smith. She died in 1946.
Jordan worked for the Central Illinois Light Company for 36 years and retired in 1957.
Sometime after 1959 Jordan moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he died in 1975 at the age of 82. His obituary was published in the Peoria Journal Star on May 13, 1975.
