Ethel E. Marchio, 74, of Hanover, died Saturday, Feb. 23, at Hanover Hospital.

Born Aug. 4, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of a late George and Esther (Spalding) Hagerman. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack R. Marchio, in 1980. She was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbottstown and an auxiliary member of the VFW. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth J. Marchio and Daniel P. Marchio, both of Hanover; three daughters, Kaye Snyder of East Berlin, and Annette Smith and Julie A. King, both of Hanover, nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mae Bankert, Catherine Hagerman, and Yvonne Fuhrman, all of Hanover.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m, Wednesday, Feb. 27, at
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Box 343, Canal Road, Abbottstown, with Rev Thomas P. Langan as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge McSherrystown, from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, with a prayer service to be held at 8 p.m. and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday.
