Andrew Jackson "Jack" Ferguson, Jr., age 57 of Sparta, GA., died August 26, 2001. He was a retired Captain of the Atlanta Police Department after 30 years of service. Mr. Ferguson was a graduate of the FBI Training Institute. Surviving are his wife, Joyce B. Ferguson of Sparta; mother, Catherine R. Ferguson of Warsaw, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Macy and Allen Defnall of Douglasville, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tina Ferguson of Winston, GA; and Tony Straka of Spokane, WA; granddaughters, Taylor Avery Defnall and Jordan Marie Ferguson, sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Charles Bonifield of Bradenton, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Ferguson will be held Tuesday, August 28th at 11 o'clock at Central Baptist Church, Douglasville, GA. Dr. Jerry Pickard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Ferguson is a child of God and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Milledgeville, GA. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make contributions to Northside Baptist Church, Milledgeville, GA., or S.W. Christian Hospice of Union City, GA.
