Warren Penney, age 89, died Sept. 1, 2009 in St. George, Utah. Warren was born June 6, 1920 in Kanosh, Utah to Charles William and Hattie Aurilla Charlesworth Penney. He married Gertrude Russell Aug. 6, 1941 in Elko, Nev. Together they built and operated Penney's Service in Rush Valley, Utah from 1950 to 1977. Warren was a WWII veteran from 1943 to 1945, serving in Japan, Philippines, and New Guinea.

He is survived by his children, Donna Penney of Casper, Wyo.; John (Karrie) Penney of Heber, Utah; David Penney of Austin, Texas; and brother Harold (Verla) Penney of Sacramento, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude of 54 years, siblings and long time companion Shirley Perosevek.

A memorial service will be held at Tate Mortuary in Tooele on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. and a viewing one-hour prior to the service. Interment at the Clover Cemetery, Rush Valley, Utah.
