Mary Ellen "Sue" (Anderson) Gilbert, 86, of Inman passed away April 15, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Elbert Warren and Pearl Ann (Foster) Anderson and was wife of the late Clarence R. Gilbert, Sr.
She was a charter member of Rock Hill Baptist Church of Inman and was affectionately known as "Nanny" to her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Tony Gilbert and Clarence Gilbert, Jr.; two daughters, Linda McAbee (Steve) and Kathy Nicholls (Chris); seven grandchildren, Amanda McAbee Thompson (Andrew), Jeremy Richard Gilbert, Kimberly McAbee Horton (Jeffrey), Tyler Steven McAbee, Morgan Danielle Gilbert, Christopher Jae "CJ" Nicholls and Anderson Clay Nicholls; a great grandchild, Ella Reese Thompson; a sister, Rachel Painter and a sister in law, Grace Ledbetter.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Leila Ann Gilbert.
The family received friends on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Rock Hill Baptist Church of Inman, Bishop Road.
Funeral services followed at the church at 3:00 pm conducted by Rev. Ronald Gilbert. Burial was in Lake Bowen Baptist Church Cemetery.
