He was born on May 4, 1934 in New Martinsville, the son of the late Leslie Clarence and Vashti Pearl (Fluharty) Staley.
He was a member of the Eight Mile Church of Christ. He was in the U.S. Army (Stationed in Korea). He was a retired welder from Ormet.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Lancaster and Imogene Fetty; two brothers, Jeff and Richard Staley.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Etta Staley, a daughter, Anita Forrest and her husband Ken of Cullman, AL., a brother, Bob (Marge) Staley of Middlebourne, WV, three grandchildren, Drew, Kacy and Troy Forrest of Cullman, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009.
Interment in the Milburn Cemetery, Reader, WV.
