Alvin G. Anderson
Alvin G. Anderson, 75, of 509 S. Cedar Ave. died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he had been a patient since June 8.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ronald A. Jansen officiating. Bruce Jensenma will serve as organist, and Mrs. Judy Erickson, vocalist.
Burial will be in Hillside Lutheran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark, Steve, Darin, Jim and Jerold Anderson and Dennis Ertl.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at the Hansen Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Anderson was born April 7, 1907 in Marshfield to Mr. and Mrs. Gustave (Julia Swenson) Anderson and later moved to Madison. He received his education in the Madison and Marshfield schools. At the age of 14 he moved with his family to the Chili area, where they were engaged in farming.
He married the former Helen Moen May 16, 1928 at the Lutheran church west of Klondike. She survives. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1978.
After their marriage they farmed in the Chili and rural Spencer areas. Mr. Anderson also was employed by Rollohome Corp. for 18 years, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Emory (Lorraine) Willner, Wisconsin Dells; three sons, Willard and Larry, both of Marshfield, and Duane, Spencer; a brother, Victor Anderson, Chili; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters.
