Funeral service for Mr. Walter H. Burgett was held Tuesday, October 21, 1980, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele. Mr. William Imrisek officiated.
Mr. Burgett was born April 15, 1894 in Atwood, Ala., and died October 19, 1980 at Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville. He was 86. He was a retired employee of the Frisco Railroad.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burgett, he was united in marriage to Regina Turnage at Blytheville May 16, 1944. Seven children preceded him in death.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Regina Burgett of Steele; three sons, Travis Burgett of St. Louis, Mo., Wilburn Burgett of Troy, Tenn., and James W. Burgett of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Maudie Gibson of St. Louis, Mrs. Shirley Clayton of Farmington, Mo., and Mrs. Henrietta Henson of Farmington; 35 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were S. L. Johns, Chester Barnes, Homer Ledford, David Whitfield, G.G. Southern, and Joe Samford.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
