Dorothy O. Neese, 84, of rural Kampsville, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. She was born Jan. 21, 1918 in Belleview to Abram A. and Lettie Poor Goewey. She married H. Mayo Neese in 1934 in Carlinville. He died Dec. 25, 1975. She was a longtime employee of the Whitecat Popcorn Company in Hamburg. She also farmed with her husband and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Allen, Harold, Francis and Earl Goewey, and two sisters, Martha Grammer and Mina Barnes. She was a member of Mozier Church of Christ and truly enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Nov. 11 at Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Rev. Wilson Ramsey. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
