Frank L. Blystone, 80, of Norwalk, died Thursday morning at his home. He was born March 17, 1925 in Milan to the late John B. and Anna (Merrill) Blystone. He was a veteran of the Army serving in World War II, and was a member of Firelands Post No. 2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Norwalk, where he had been chaplain for five years. He was also a member of D.A.V. Post No. 62 and American Legion Post No. 527 in Milan. He was a former employee of Ferrell Cheek Steel Company, Sandusky; Norwalk Foundry and Firelands Security Company. He enjoyed fishing, baseball and softball. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lois (McCreery) Blystone of Norwalk; sons, Kenneth, Steven, David Sr. and Timothy Blystone, all of Norwalk; a daughter, Cheryl Blystone of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Ray Blystone of Lima; and a sister, Joan Taft of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his son, Dana Blystone; brothers, Dean Blystone and Charles Blystone; and a sister, Grace Butler. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Kenneth Blystone will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
