Andrew was a son of Zolti & Julia nee Grabetz Laska.
He was a brother of these named siblings:
~ Arpad Laska;
~ Zoltan Laska;
~ Daniel Laska;
~ Steve Laska;
~ Helen Dymond;
~ Ethel Uterhardt,all deceased;
~ Dessie Laska of Punxsutawney

A graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and a member of the Sportsburg United Methodist Church. He served in the Pacific during World War II with the U.S Army and was discharged in 1946 as a Sgt. Major. He later served during the Berlin Crisis at Ft. Bragg as a Chief Warrant Officer and retired from the Army in 1977 after 31 years as a Chief Warrant Officer W-4. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, Unit Citation, Pacific Theater Medal and Meritorious Unit Citation. He was also the past commander and a life member of the Robinson-Morrison VFW Post 2076; a past commander and life member of the American Legion Post 62 and a past commander of the Jefferson County American Legion, having served as the Registered Service Officer for the VFW for 45 years. Andy served eight years as Director of Veterans Affairs for Jefferson County; four terms as a Jefferson County commissioner; 12 years on the Jefferson County Library Board and was a past member of the American Red Cross and the Roseville Grange. He was also a member of the Brookville Kiwanis Club ;the Punxsutawney Lions Club and spent 18 years as director of Community Action and 17 years as director of the Conservation District. He was a member of Rural Development Committee;a member of the IUP Trust; the founder and a member of the Route 119 Improvement Committee; a member of the Barclay Park Committee and the past chairman of the North Central Development Commission.He was also a local dairy farmer and Christmas tree farmer before retiring in 1984. Andrew passed away at Wellington Heights in Punxsutawney at the age of 89 years.

Andrew was married to the former Marie Quashnock.
They were the parents of :
~ Dennis
~ Denise
~ infant son,David,deceased.

Interment was made at the American Legion Plot at Circle Hill.
