OFFICAL OBITUARY

Don Johnson, and more lovingly referred to as "DJ" by those who knew him, left this world far too quickly on the afternoon of Monday, April 15, 2013. With a personality and flare for life that far exceeded anyone's expectations, DJ found a way to bring out a smile, a laugh or a hug from anyone. Whether it was chatting about the latest LSU Sporting event or his plans for Spanishtown and its parade, DJ found tremendous joy in the festivities of life. As owner of Hair, Face & Body Salon, DJ's chair made a comfortable place for his clients and friends to discuss and solve many of life's problems. For many years his involvement with the Krewe of Apollo-Baton Rouge provided an outlet for his talent, was the source of his closest friendships, and became an avenue to celebrate Mardi Gras. The depth with which DJ loved and cared for those around him including his beloved pet Horace will never be measurable. The legacy of laughter and friendship he leaves behind will never be forgotten. A memorial reception honoring and celebrating his life will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 1pm until service at 3pm. All are encouraged to wear LSU attire and to bring you fondest memory of "Mazie". To honor DJ's memory, donations may be made to the Apollo Crisis Fund P.O. Box 3591 Baton Rouge, LA 70821 to continue his passionate work for the surrounding community.
