PANSY SUE METCALF ALLEN

Pansy Sue Metcalf Allen, 79, of Bennett Road, Candler, N.C. died Monday, November 26, 1984 in an Asheville hospital.

A native of Madison County, N.C. and a resident of Buncombe County for the past 42 years, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hardy Metcalf and Elizabeth Hyatt Metcalf and the wife of Weldon Harvey Allen, who died in 1959. She was a member of Terry's Fork Baptist Church.

She was survived by a daughter, Vestia Imogene Allen Allison of Hendersonville, N.C.; three sons, Porter Bruce Allen and James Edward Allen, both of Candler, N.C., and Virgil Eugene Allen of Tignall, Georgia; two sisters, Velvie Metcalf Church and Alice Ruby Metcalf Church, both of Mars Hill, N.C.; a brother, Herbert Enloe Metcalf of Mars Hill, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 1984 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The Revs. Ed Worley and Elmer Edwards officiated. Burial was in Metcalf Cemetery.
