Ruth Jean Benson Samson
(March 5, 1926 - April 17, 2013)

Ruth Jean Benson Samson, 87, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend to many passed away at home, surrounded by her family, Wednesday, April 17, 2013.

She was born March 5, 1926 in Magna, Utah to Ora and Emma Benson.

On October 23, 1946, Ruth married her sweetheart, William "Bill" John Samson. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They would have celebrated 67 years together this October.

She was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many capacities. Ruth and Bill served a mission to New Zealand and another to the Ogden Inner City Mission.

Ruth was a wonderful homemaker. Taking care of her husband and children were her first priority. She was a wonderful example to her children and grandchildren and leaves a great legacy for her posterity.

She leaves behind her husband, Bill; five daughters and their husbands, Pam and Scott Campbell, North Ogden; Randee and Eddie Nielson, Hurricane; Shelley and Dee Bambrough, Vernal; Tonja and Don Gardiner, Layton; Billie and Mike Stokes, Riverdale; 25 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by three granddaughters, Brooke, Rachael and Jennifer, her parents, and siblings.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Glen Biddulph, nurse Belinda Adolfsen and the CNA's from Aspire Hospice for their loving care and service.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22nd at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 8th Ward Chapel, 4000 Parker Drive.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
