Bertha Catherine Larson, 86, Pontchartrain Guest House, Mandeville, La., was born Sept. 23, 1903 in St. Ansgar to Lambert and Anna (Theobald) Weis. She lived on a farm near Chester, Iowa, until 1949 at which time she moved to Austin where she lived until 1982. She then moved to Covington, La., where she lived until 1988 when she moved to Mandeville, La., where she resided until the time of her death.

Mrs. Larson was married to George Larson on June 3, 1930. She was a homemaker and a member of the Queen's Rosary Society.

Mrs. Larson died at 9:55 a.m. on October 12, 1989, at Highland Park Hospital, Covington, La. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on October 17, 1989, at Queen of Angels Church, Father Jennings officiating. Margo Bissen was soloist and organist. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Calvin Weis, Paul Reinartz, Warren Finkelson, Ray Weis, Curtis Weis and Mark Swancutt.

She is survived by adopted children Maurice and J. Kay Houck; one grandchild, Kenneth Michael Yarborough, Covington, La,; brother Art Weis, Isanti, Minn.; three sisters, Martha Ihns, Princeton, Minn., Agatha Swancutt, Chester, Iowa and Pauline Finkelson, Austin; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her husband, George, parents, Lambert and Anna; brothers Ed, Albert, Ray, Leo, Ralph; and sister Loretta.
