She was a resident of Crestview for close to 60 years.
Rue Nelle retired from the Okaloosa County Tax Collector's office following a 24-year career. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her husband, Alvin Bruce Aplin, and twin daughters precede her in death. Rue Nelle is survived by four sons, Al and wife Debra, Charles and wife Jeannie, Greg, and Don; a daughter, Tami Noyes and husband Steve. Eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation with the family was 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 11 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.
The celebration of Rue Nelle's life was on Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Cadenhead officiating.
Rue Nelle's seven grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial followed at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery
