Jimmy was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority and was also a Vietnam veteran who served his country proudly. His proudest accomplishment was his purple heart. Jimmy enjoyed restoring his 1967 Chevelle. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patsy Smith, of Florence, Ala.; one sister, Betty Sharp, of Florence, Ala.; and two brothers, R.C. Smith, of Florence, Ala., and Tommy Smith, of Decatur, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Inez Smith. He is also survived by his extended family, whom he loved dearly, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Wilburn Wallace, James Atkinson, Lynn Crosslin, Wendall Hutchenson, Marty Smith and Danny Murphy.
