He was married on December 21, 1879 in Montgomery County to Sallie Ann Harris (1862–1943), the daughter of Sampson C Harris (1825–1877) and Lucinda "Lou" ( -- ) Harris (1829–1898). {According to both the 1900 and 1910 censuses, Marshall and Sallie had no children.}
A farmer living in Southside, Montgomery County, Marshall was 78 years old and married when he passed away at home on December 4, 1932. Burial was the next day in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
