The daughter of William Richmond Speaks & Susannah Elizabeth Jones. Her 1st husband was Evan Samuel Gilbert. Her 2nd husband was John Cooksey.Janes Speaks was the wife of Evan S. Gilbert. They lived on a farm in Chunky, Newton County, Ms.
Their son Stephen R. Gilbert was killed during the civil war. He was married to Delilah A. Loper and they had a daughter named Elizabeth Jane Gilbert, who married Daniel Richard Mabry. Elizabeth Jane and Daniel had 8 children.
