"John Werle, 75 years old, died Monday night at his home at 432 East Fifth Street, after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services will be held at the family residence at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. F. A. Meusch, pastor of St. Mark's Evangelical Church, afficiating (sic). Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Werle was an old resident of the city. He was engaged in the grocery business at East Fifth and Elm Streets for sixteen years, retiring a few months ago. He is survived by a son, John S. (sic) Werle, and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Belviy, Jr., and Mrs. John Oeffinger, all of this city, two. Two brothers, Fred Werle, Sellersburg, and Louis Werle, this county, and two sisters, Misses Bena and Catherine Werle, this county, also survive."
