Michael A. Bauer, 57, of Silverwood, died Monday, January 3, 2005 in his home with his family at his side. He was born May 7, 1947 in Pontiac to Walter B. and Marguerite A. (Milbocker) Bauer. He married Alice M. Pope November 14, 1974 in Twenty Nine Palms, CA.

Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corp as an Electronics Technician, Sniper, and Service Officer, among other positions. He served two years in Vietnam. Michael was part of the 5th Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton. He was a Marine Corp Tech School instructor. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corp in 1996 after 30 years. Michael was a member of the Kingston VFW Post #5317 and Kingston AMVET Post #1072.

Michael is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Tinia Bauer of Millington; grandchildren: Madison Brown and Tyler Brown; mother, Marguerite Bauer of Lapeer; sister, Mary (Roy) Carrasco of Lapeer. He was also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Walter Bauer.

Memorial service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Kingston VFW Hall in Kingston. Military services under the direction of Kingston AMVET Post #1072 and Kingston VFW Post #5317.Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Kingston VFW Hall.
