ASE LARSEN ALFELOR
Age 69, of Corona, CA, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born to the late Kristian and Marit Larsen of Stavanger, Norway on October 2, 1943. Ase attended grammar and secondary school in Norway, before attending college in Long Beach, CA as a foreign exchange student at the age of 17. On October 20, 1963, Ase married the love of her life, Benjamin K. Alfelor. They enjoyed many wonderful years living all over the world before finally settling down in Southern California in 1979. Mom and Dad loved traveling and taking long cruises to exotic destinations. Our family is so fortunate to have shared in these special memories with them. Ase was fun loving, generous and had a great sense of humor. She was an avid reader, loved playing Scrabble and completing crossword puzzles. Mom defined the word "selfless" by sacrificing her wants and needs so that others may flourish. Her undying commitment and unconditional love for her family could not be measured. Our family's happiness and success could not be possible without her love and support. She was the backbone and pillar for our family that enabled us to live very happy lives. Ase is survived by her sister Edith Edeim of Norway; three children Cecilia Kim of Corona, CA, Benjamin Jr. of Honolulu, HI, and Kristian of Corona, CA; five grandchildren Lauren, Richard Jr., Matthew, Ethan, and Andrew. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Our family wishes to give special thanks to all of our friends and family for their continual love and support during these most difficult of times. Our Mom will be dearly missed, always loved and never forgotten. No matter where she goes, however far away, a part of us will be with her and a part of her will stay with us forever. A visitation will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona, CA on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 12:00-2:00 PM with a vigil at 1:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Corona, CA on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM with a private burial to follow at the Riverside National Cemetery. Our family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the City of Hope and Kindred Hospital Rancho for providing our mother with exceptional care and service. Donations may be sent to the City of Hope Cancer Research Center, 1500 E. Duarte Rd., Duarte, CA 91010. Published in Press-Enterprise on April 18, 2013.
