Alice Frances Wirtz, age 92, died Wednesday April 10, 2013 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin. She was surrounded by family members at the time of her death.

Alice was born April 29, 1920 in St. Peter, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred and Ida (Steffen) Richter.

Alice married Rudolph Wirtz on October 21, 1941 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Malone, Wisconsin. She worked alongside Rudy at Rudy's General Store, in Peebles, Wisconsin. She later worked as a delicatessen clerk at the Red Owl Country Store in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Alice was a member of the Holy Family Parish and attended St. Peter's Church and the Christian Mothers Society.

Alice enjoyed reading, music, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generosity and service to others.

SURVIVORS: Her children, Jean (Jim) Schmitz, Patricia (Richard) Flasch, June Lieffring and David (Annette) Wirtz all of Fond du Lac, Thomas (Patricia) Wirtz of Berlin, Janet (Manuel) Rios of Chicago, Lynn (Gerald) Holl of West Bend. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Alice is survived by three sisters-in-law, Olga Roehrig, Alice E. Wirtz, Helen Richter, and one brother-in-law Frank Staab.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Her husband Rudy, his parents Joseph and Gertrude Wirtz, her son Peter, her parents Alfred and Ida Richter, a brother Vernon Richter, and a sister Virginia Schaefer: 10 brothers-in- law, Herman, Ambrose (Jack), Herbert, Phillip, and Edgar Wirtz, Jerry Hahn, Ambrose Roehrig, Oliver Ciske, Bernard Julka, Gilbert Schaefer: also six sisters-in-law: Estella Hahn, Rita Ciske, Genevieve Julka, Regina Wirtz, Priscilla Staab, and Lorraine Wirtz.

Funeral Information
VISITATION: Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL: Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Church-Holy Family, W3698 County Rd. WH, St. Peter. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
