Bill Cartmill, 80, Shawnee, Kansas, (formerly of Independence, Missouri) passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Trinity Nursing and Rehab, Merriam, Kansas.
Bill was born December 23, 1932, in Independence, Missouri. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Bill owned Cartmill Construction Co. in Jefferson City, Missouri, for many years and was a driver for LaFarge Concrete Co. until his retirement in 1997. He was an Elder and Pastor in the Community of Christ Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Andrew and Beatrice Elizabeth Cartmill and two brothers, Russell Cartmill and Eddie Frike. Survivors include his wife, Mary Eileen Cartmill; son and spouse, Jon (Jan) Cartmill, Lake Mykee, Missouri; three daughters and their spouses, Debbie (Dave) Gerlette, Nanette (Pete) Nacy all of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Brenda (Rob) Culver, Knob Noster, Missouri; two step-daughters, Christina (Arch) Fuston, San Diego, California and Angel (Bernie) Olivier, Shawnee, Kansas; two step-sons, Paul Francis, Los Angeles, California, and Brian (Amy) Cloughley, San Anselmo, California; sister, Shirley (Frank) Brogdon, Independence, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.



Visitation and Funeral Service


Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
