Floy Daugherty Embrey, 96, of Clinton Died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.
She was a homemaker and of Christian faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Lee Hurd of Clinton; her brother, Bart Daugherty of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Myrtle Lee Kilpatrick of Gilbertsville, Ky.; four grandsons, Steve Embrey, Bruce Embrey, Michael Embrey and John Embrey, all of Fulton; one granddaughter, Mitzi Embrey of Fulton; step grandson, Joe Hurd of Savannah, Tenn.; 11 great grandchildren; and one step greatgrandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joy Embrey; one son, J.C. Embrey; two brothers, Bob and Carmen Daugherty; and one grandson, Larry Embrey. Her parents were David and Flora Bell Day Daugherty.
Services were Sunday, November 2 at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton. Rev. Aaron Dowdy officiated, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

CLINTON, Ky. ? Mrs. Floy Daugherty Embrey, 96, of Clinton passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 6:30 a.m. at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton.

She was a loving mother, a homemaker and of Christian faith. She always had a smile on her face and was heard to say she was fine no matter how she actually felt. She will be sadly missed by her family and will be remembered by all as a wonderful friend.

She leaves behind her daughter, Doris Lee Hurd of Clinton; brother, Bart Daugherty of Lexington; sister, Myrtle Lee Kilpatrick of Gilbertsville; grandsons, Steve Embrey, Bruce Embrey, Michael Embrey and John Embrey, all of Fulton; granddaughter, Mitzi Embrey of Fulton; stepgrandson, Joe Hurd of Savannah, Tenn.; 11 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Flora Bell Day Daugherty; her husband, Joy Embrey; son, J.C. Embrey; two brothers, Bob and Carmen Daugherty; and grandson, Larry Embrey.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 2, 2008, at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Aaron Dowdy officiating.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. today, November 1, 2008, at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
