Robert "Bob" Carroll Appel, 88, of North Aurora, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Mercy Center in Aurora surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 24, 1924, in Aurora, to Walter and Mildred (Pfalzgraf) Appel.
Robert served in World War II in England at the Warrington Army Aircorp Base where he met his future bride, Eleanor. Robert spent his life building homes and developed the RCA Subdivision of North Aurora, North Aurora Golf Course, Prestbury-Aurora, the Prestbury Golf Course, Heaton Park of Batavia, The Highlands of North Aurora and along with his son, Bryan, Silver Trails.
Robert was preceded in death by his father; mother, Mildred Drew; step-father, Leon Drew; his wife, Eleanor Appel; a son, Steven; his sister, Gloria Case and grandson, Jordan Hanosh.
