Jacob C. Clovis, aged 90 years, died at his home in Jollytown, Gilmore Township, Friday morning, October 9, 1936, at 6 o'clock. He had been ill for the last several weeks of complications incident to his advanced years.

The deceased was born in Pentress, W. Va., December 21, 1845, a son of William and Rebecca Chalfant Clovis, deceased, but had spent the greater part of his life in Jollytown where he operated a rolling mill for a number of years. He was also a farmer and stockraiser and was twice married. His first wife, Athalia Eakin Clovis, died 48 years ago. Surviving is his second wife, Mrs. Bella Stewart Clovis, with the folowing children: Edward R. Clovis, of Jollytown; William Clovis and Fred Clovis, both of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three brothers, Albert Clovis, of Canton, Ohio; Samuel and Robert Clovis, both of West Alexander, and one sister, Mrs. Dora McNeely, of Fairmont, W. Va., also survive.
