Sandy was very proud of his Scottish and English descent. He had been a resident of Levittown since 1972 . He attended McBurney Prep School in New York City; and Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA where he received his Bachelor of Arts in History & political Science and graduated in 1962.

Mr. Aitken was a US Air Force veteran from 1963-1967, serving in Lackland AFB, Texas; Clark Air Base, Philippines; Charleston AFB, Charleston, SC; and McGuire AFB, Burlington Twp., NJ, attaining the rank of Captain.

He worked as a Territory Sales Manager for Kraft Dairy Group for 27 years, retiring in 1996. He then worked as a Bookseller at Barnes & Noble in Fairless Hills, PA for a number of years.

He enjoyed fishing and camping and had a love of reading and volunteerism. He liked to travel and went on multiple domestic and international trips.

He was also an avid animal lover and had 2 Siberian Huskies, Zemo and Cody.

Alex was an Elder and Deacon at The First Presbyterian Church of Levittown. .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marguerite Aitken; his brother and sister in law, Eugene & Yvonne Reday, his nephew Todd Reday of Bristol, PA; his uncle, Jack Aitken; and his parents-in-law, Edward and Anna Culiberg.
